I looking for alternative to using dairy products.
1 - What to put in my coffee? 2 - Yogurt alternatives?
I think dairy is a great fact source, but I start to have sinus pressure if I have almost any casein, which almost always leads into a mild sinus cold. Moreover, I can't get my hands on any on raw/non-pasteurized dairy (with the exception on some raw cheeses), since it is illegal in Canada :(. 35% creme isn't so bad, but I have to have it in very small amounts. Same goes for full-fat (Greek style) yogurt.
Coconut creme is an OK alternatives, but I find it too sweet at times.

I have a casein sensitivity that does the same thing - clogs me up like a hair-filled drain.
I've been putting coconut milk in my coffee (tastes WONDERFUL), and if I want something with butter I use ghee. I understand you can make yogurt out of coconut milk, although I have yet to try. Other than that, I cook with a lot of lard, tallow, bacon grease and coconut oil.
I do miss cheese. I had a small amount of raw goat milk cheddar the other night, and it didn't seem to bother me, but I don't want to push it.
I prefer Almond Milk from Trader Joes. I've also tried the Almond Milk you can get from Stop and Shop but for whatever reason, the one from Trader Joes just tastes better and it's thicker.
I've also started eating a Gelato from Organic Nectars. It's made from Cashew milk. Extremely delicious, almost too good to be true.
Depending on who you talk to cream is aok or right out. I'm still doing half & half in my coffee, but I tried coconut milk this morning. It was alright but it wasn't thick enough for me.
There's a recipe for coconut oil creamer out there (just search creamer) and people report great results with that.
Apparently you can also whip up coconut milk to make whipped cream, much as you would with milk. I have yet to try that.
I tried a dairy elimination in January and lasted 10 days before adding cream and butter back. I have now been 4 days without any dairy (I have MS and don't want to mess with autoimmunity issues from dairy). I have been using coconut milk in my coffee and it is pretty tasty. You could always skim the cream off the top and not use the clear fluid to make it creamier.
