As a farmer, I'd like to weigh in here. I'm not aware of any commercially available GMO fruits or vegetables apart from sweet corn and papayas. There was a GMO tomato years ago, but it was discontinued due to poor consumer acceptance. There are thousands of new varieties of fruit and vegetables released every year, but those are developed by traditional breeding (yeah good ol plant on plant action, hot!). Of course I'm sure there are plenty of GMOs vegetables lurking in labs around the world waiting to be released. Let me know if I missed any other GMO fruit or Vegetables. |

No, I don't feel like I've left one evil for the other. Even eating CAFO meat and unpastured chickens and non-organic fruits/vegetables, I am doing so much better than when I ate all of the processed gluten filled, sugar laden crap. I do my best to source things the best I can, but when I can't I don't stress about it. |

grow what you can, and otherwise buy local from people you trust |

I'm not eating GMO anything but grains scare me a hell of a lot more than pasteurized dairy of CAFO meat. CAFO meat = ever so small a pimple the next day, maybe a subtle grumble in the tummy right after. Pasteurized dairy - worse but won't ruin my day. Grains - fuck, I'm being eaten alive from the inside! Ahhhh! Even sprouted quinoa and white rice are unpleasant. |

I think it's all about finding a responsible source and never, ever leaving it. I find that I'm eating more local foods since those are the ones I can trust. I think Salmon is by far the scariest one. I'm worried about a GMO salmon somehow escaping into the wild and contaminating the other fish. |

I'm just waiting for our farmers market to open in may. Literally counting the days. Until then, we don't really have an option for grass-fed anything. Having to make due with the fewest ingredient things we can find in the store. Last night we spent 20 minutes reading labels to find a sausage that was low carb and had as few unpronounceable ingredients as possible. No luck finding nitrate free bacon yet :( |

I try to get organic and local when I can and have been getting frozen bison (which is amazing) and wild salmon in the mail. I luckily live near great markets and green markets so I can get all the good stuff! |

GRAINS. I have no problem with small amounts of raw diary products. And for strength training Raw Milk is the best. |
