Hi!

I went to Whole Foods yesterday and found this little piece of beauty when I was going to check out. http://www.peppersmith.co.uk/

It's made entirely from natural ingredients and sweetened with xylitol.

I quit chewing gum when I went Paleo but this one looks pretty solid! Thoughts?

Xylitol might give you a problem if you're sensitive to FODMAPS, I think. Anyway, I'm not sure how it's significantly different than any other sugar-free gum, plus the whole sweet tastes giving you cravings for more sweets issue.

Then again, I won't pretend that I'm always 100% paleo, so whatever floats your boat!

I have to have something minty after I eat Liver and Onions or my coworkers would murder me. In this case, I think one piece of xylitol chewing gum isn't going to kill me.

I know I am dragging up an old post, but just bought a box of 12 boxes of Peppersmith off Amazon. I work in I.T. and go through a pack of Extra a day and thought that I am possibly ingesting a lot of nasties. This is my 'best of both worlds' approach. Natural gum is quite different to chew and breaks down a lot quicker, but this is of course because you are not chomping on a piece of plastic.

Just so you know, I have to admit this chewing gum is not so great. It may be healthier but you really can't chew it longer then about 5 minutes and it does not freshen the mouth as well as the regular gum. If you are a persistent chewer like myself you may be disappointed. – AlohaSpeck Nov 18 2011 at 10:35
