A family member wants to try it, but dislikes the smell and taste of coconut. I'm thinking, something with a high MUFA and low PUFA content. Avocado oil, maybe?

I found a brand of coconut oil in my local store (Louana - really cheap). The ingredients seem clean, and it has no smell and no discernable taste. Tastes like.. fat. Or unsalted butter. – Oranges13 Mar 30 2011 at 0:46

I think the traditional way to do it is with sesame oil. But definitely a good quality sesame oil.

Olive oil? Or is the PUFA (20-25%) too high?

I thought of olive oil. I think it would be fine but possibly more expensive than avocado oil. – JJ Mar 30 2011 at 17:33
Totally. The good stuff costs some serious green. – Ben Mar 30 2011 at 18:31
