Knowing that breast tissue is composed of mostly fat, I was wondering if anyone has noticed cup-size changes since being on Paleo. Being that we consume much more fat, but we also burn more, I wanted to see what changes, if any, you have seen. I know everyone loses fat differently but would love to hear your thoughts.

Yes! I lost more body fat than weight and they disappeared. I put back on 5lbs and they are much better. If I go much lower than exactly where I am at, the boobs are the first to go. Why not the thighs??? WHY???!!! |

This is based on zero empirical evidence, but my gut feeling is that a female eating the SAD for years is deficient in various micronutrients when they adopt an ancestral diet. If they start eating liver every week, they'll be addressing any existing deficiencies. In the same way that male androgen production is dependent upon Cu, Zn, Se, vitamin A etc, estrogen amount and ratios of it and other horomones like progesterone are likely completely different with a biologically correct diet. As such, I would expect changes in menstruation, libido and secondary sex characteristics over time. |

I have lost a little boobage. My boyfriend keeps insisting that they are shrinking before his eyes, but I don't feel like the change has been all that dramatic. I have had to start using the last hook and eye closure rather than the first on my bras, adjusting the straps, and artfully disguising some fabric puckering that wasn't happening before. So, conservatively I would estimate that I have gone down a half a band size and maybe half a cup size (if bras came in half sizes.) I am still a D cup, though. Wish I could shrink them a lot more and switch to some less cumbersome support apparatuses. More than that, I would like to be able to have better posture, less back pain and less of a pronounced bra strap groove deformity (google it, if you are curious.) I have my doubts, though. I come from a long line of disproportionately top heavy ladies--my mom had reduction surgery recently, actually. |

Ugh, don't get me started. First place it goes when I lose weight. (and to our male commentator, they don't firm up when they shrink if you've had children, believe me. You're not helping the body issues that go with this one little bit.) I've got stupidly broad shoulders, a proprtionally small waist and big hips. I will always be somewhat reubanesque. The boobs simply don't match the rest of the picture and I hates it. Hates it, I tell you. I don't count carbs, I'm not a fanatical paleo, and I'm not excercising properly yet. I'm also not even close to my recommended bodyweight and I have no intention of dropping that much. I'm desperately hoping that excercise and dietary changes give me back some cleavage...otherwise I'm quite possibly going to deliberately put back on 5kg and keep the soft squishy look. |

Nope - My only change has been band size. Mine are never going to get smaller without surgery :( I'm hoping with more long-term paleo they may shrink. It would be such a blessing to be taken more seriously by many of my male collegues. But oh well - that's their problem - not mine. I'm interested to see if any of the more long-term paleo eaters have seen a change. I'd be more than happy to share mine! |

I'm also happy to share the bounty, as it were, but to answer the question, both components have dropped, but not enough to justify a shopping spree. With the amount of upper body work I get between holding up music and exercise, the band may not change much. I know the cup size won't go down all that much as they are here to stay. These aren't memorex, they're the real thing. |

Not cup, but band size for sure is less. |

I lost 80 lbs (210lbs>>>130lbs) in one year and went from a 42D waaaaay down to a 34A. And they have no shape to them, anymore. They used to be nice and full and round, even before I got fat (I was 36B for the longest time, with really perfect boobs). Oh well. My husband doesn't care and I feel good about the way I look in strappy tops and a bikini top, so I'm ok with it. |

Hopefully the only change will be the band size. Mine are already frustratingly small and don't look "normal" as it is. If they get smaller, I think I might die. |

Am half of what I use to be :-( and still have 40 lbs to lose (26 gone) I didnt have them when I was younger and skinnier,...they arrived with weight gain and child birth,....and now they are departing with Paleo weight loss. "Last in, first out" seems to hold true with me,.... |

Mine shrank at first, but I also do Crossfit, so have put on so much muscle, the now appear back to their old size. I wouldn't mind if they shrank. |

No change in that area, and I've always been small. I lost flab around my waist, hips and thighs soon after going Paleo, glad the boobies didn't go anywhere. They seem to have gotten a bit perkier since I started crossfitting, probably due to my huge new muscles :) |

Its hormonal. I was listening to Dr Liebowitz Podcast("Hormones spoken here" dont recall which episode) where he was talking about varying hormones and women and their fat distribution including bra size. |

I've lost 30 lbs and have had to tighten the band on my bras, but the cup size (DD) has remained unchanged. On my last shopping trip, I tested out some Ds just to see if I was fooling myself, but, alas, I remain a DD. I was a C in high school but I was much more muscular (and a bit thinner) back then. I wouldn't be surprised if the ladies start shrinking as my muscles start growing. |

I've lost 25 lbs eating paleo and went from a 40B+ to a 38B-. I have a big ribcage (so does hubby, we joke that our kids are going to have conical torsos). Now my 38B bras fit without band extenders, but the cups on the more 'structured' ones are kind of gaping. I would love to end up at a 36B or even 36A if it comes to it with a hopeful additional ~10 lbs of weight loss, so I can be in a more common bra size... 38Bs are hard to come by and 38As are almost nonexistent. |

I started out in the 38B-C range, but now (50 pounds smaller) am a 34B. So much easier to shop for bras! |

Lost 60lb and went from a 36FF(!!) to now a 32E. Hard to find clothes to fit or good bras for less than 40 euro. Would have a reduction in the morning but I think my boyfriend would leave me! |

I've last around 21 lbs on LC/paleo. My bra size at a UK size 8 (USA size 4/6?) was 32F, the smallest I'd ever been as an adult. I went upto a 34H when pregnant with DD. When pregnant with DS, I went up to a 34J. Try finding a decent nursing bra in that size that doesn't cost the earth sigh!!! I'm currently a 32J, so my breasts have lost a little weight. I don't think they'll be reducing very quickly any time soon though. Not until my DS decides to wean. FWIW, I don't really suffer back ache from them, but I can hardly breathe if I try to jog (sports bras just aren't supportive). And, can I just mention that I'm only 4th 10ins. They look ridiculous. The medical term is macromastia & it is hormonal in my case - hoping that paleo will help in the mid to long term. If not, I think I'll try the NHS for surgery... |

I lost 50 lbs about 3 years ago and my cup size didn't change! (I'm 21) In fact since then I've gone from a D to D/DD! I say it's nature making me more likely to pass down my genes :P |

I'm not doing this for weight loss. I've always been pretty flat-chested and very skinny. My boobs got a little bigger proportionately when paleo regulated my hormonal issues, and recently I have gained weight and fat so they've grown a bit more. They will never catch up to my ass though. :) |

Yep, especially after starting to hit CrossFit harder (which has definitely affected my body comp). I was already a pretty sparse A-cup, and now I'm probably at ample AA. Oh well! |

I'm still 50 pounds overweight... I'm just 50 pounds overweight with no boobs at all. It's cruel, man, just cruel. |

I wish. My bra cup was the exact same at various weights (range of about 47.5 pounds). It's very, very sad. I lack serious boobage. I am basically flat-chested and have always been that way. I wish I didn't care, but unfortunately I do. Bummer. |
