Most of the raw vegan bodybuilders switched after they got big on meat and dairy. It's real hard to get big on raw food.
See Richard Wrangham's Catching Fire for how we are adapted to cooked food. He talks about the BBC EVO diet experiment where everyone lost weight, even though they weren't supposed to.
All the raw vegans I know are super skinny - almost anorexic. Good luck with those guys keeping the muscles they worked so hard for!
Robert Cheeke is a fairly well known vegan bodybuilder, that I think does a lot of raw, and got big as a vegan. When I was vegan, this is basically the way I ate too. All the gluten would probably kill me now though.
