I was wondering if others had created list on Dinevore?

Here is mine for NYC http://nyc.dinevore.com/lists/12489/paleo-in-nyc

Here is one of my friend's http://nyc.dinevore.com/lists/12486/paleo-in-nyc

If you create one, post it here! This could be a great resource for traveling!

Went to Takashi's after seeing it recommended on your list. Really awesome food, and I can't wait to try some of your other picks next time I'm in NYC. – MtnEvan Apr 19 2012 at 7:19

Hmm, I've not heard of Dinevore either, but I can say that in Chicago, my favorite Paleo places would be The Bristol on Damen St. for their outstanding bone marrow and other locally farmed meats - had the best pig's tail EVER there... still think about it, plus they have a great wine list for us boozehounds. Another fine choice would be Old Town Social on North Ave. for their house made charcuterie and other locally farmed meat choices. Lastly, the Bison Tartare at the Paramount Room makes me long to be back in Chicago, and it's one of my favorite bars there.

Fogo do Chao is another good one. – Harfatum Sep 18 2011 at 17:33
Others to add for Chicago: The Publican (raw/cooked shellfish, lots of offal), Girl and the Goat (almost entirely gluten free, even the fried oysters, lots of offal and game), Crust and Homemade Pizza do gluten-free pizza and they deliver. My go-to fast food is Jimmy Johns. Their lettuce wraps are very tightly wrapped and can be eaten just like a sandwich. You can customize quite a lot when ordering online. Also, when in Chicago, tell your server you are gluten free.. you'd be surprised how many places offer a gluten free menu. – BaleoNub Nov 28 2011 at 0:52

First time I've heard of Dinevore. Interesting site. Hopefully it builds up some.

In terms of creating a list though, maybe post the criteria you used and how you determined they're paleo (simply asking them, correct)?

My concern with lists like this is that they're really a snapshot in time for most the restaurants. Unless their tenet is grass feed beef, etc. They can change quickly depending on the economy. Regular beef supplies are low, which is causing spikes in prices. Haven't seen anything on the grass feed supplies, but can't see them being unaffected.

you can write comments on the list and update them pretty easily. THat's why I created one instead of a blog post. – Bread-Eating Beelzebub Apr 2 2011 at 21:43

How do you write comments or reviews? I started creating one for the SF bay area, but they don't have many restaurants listed so I'm getting a bit annoyed at having to enter them all myself, and I don't see a way to add comments to any: http://dinevore.com/lists/12592/paleo-friendly-in-the-bay-area

Edit: nevermind, I figured it out... gotta do it from the main list page, not on the restaurant's individual page.

MAybe I missed it on your list but in the SF area I would say Incanto would have to be on there! Chris Cosentino is my offal hero! (I don't live in the area but I've always wanted to go to Incanto) – tartare Apr 17 2011 at 3:01
Looks awesome! Added it to list :) – stephthegeek Apr 17 2011 at 22:20

Well, I think my list is better than Melissa's :). Mine's public so go ahead and add to it! http://nyc.dinevore.com/lists/12486/paleo-in-nyc

In LA I do chipotle double carnitas and guac sometimes cheese or white rice if i feel the need for some starch and in-n-out flying dutchmen(no bun) with just 3 patties and sometimes cheese. Most restaurants are pretty poor quality food and choices are limited so i go with the 80 20 rule and cook pretty often at home-not very good but it's a learning process.
