I was at the Vitamin Shoppe and saw it. It's natural calm plus a calcium supplement. I wonder if it adds any additional benefit?

What is a "natural calm" supplement?

Edited to add: oh, I looked it up. So basically it is just a multivitamin with a lot of calcium and magnesium and some stevia and agave added to make it all go down with a nice finish.

I don't see any particular benefit of this product over taking any other multivitamin unless you're calcium deficient.

Natural Calm (mag citrate by Peter Gillham's Natural Vitality) has fairly recently lowered the mg/raised the number of tsp per mg by nearly half for the same price. I haven't looked into the one with added calcium. I imagine they are trying to achieve a balanced supplement for those who want to take calcium too. I've recently switched to NOW Mag Citrate...alternating with a chelated Mag Glycinate. At some point I noticed it took way more Natural Calm than it used to get to the mg I wanted....I compared our container to one I had given my son a several years ago...surprise, surprise.

Are either of those two new magnesium shops you're taking to replace the natural calm pills? Powders like natural calm? I just realized the lowered amounts in nat calm too:/ – ben61820 May 15 2011 at 1:29

From my understanding magnesium intake helps support calcium absorbsion so less is needed. If yu are eating plenty of paleo foods and supplementing with magnesium then you shouldn't need to supplement with calcium.
