Hey All -

I'm looking for some IF sites that are geared towards women. Martin Berkhan has some great advice for women on his site but I'm looking for his female-counterpart. I've got a great handle on my own IF but I'd like to be able to get advice for tweaking it up for that particular time of the month.

Thanks in advance~

First of all: BEST NAME EVER! Secondly, I'll be watching this one because I would like to know the very same thing. I played around with IF for a month and didn't get much out of it. Read someone (Wolf I believe?) thinks women don't benefit much from IF and if you're not already lean you should forget about it. Would love more info on IF and women. – Shari Bambino Apr 12 2011 at 20:11
Yeah - anything with Bacon and Bitch is a good name :) IF takes time. It took me a good 4 months to get it to work properly. I don't do it for the lean aspect necessarily, I do it because it improved my metabolism. A killer site is leangains.com but he's a dude and doesn't have the background for women-specific IF. – baconbitch Apr 12 2011 at 20:53
O.k good to know. I do want to try again so I guess I need to just settle into it and commit for 6 months or so then reevaluate. It certainly suits my life much better than the grazing I used to do. Doesn't seem to be much of a downside except the cortisol issues that seem to arise for some. I'm definitely in at least in theory. Just need to start up again and do it. – Shari Bambino Apr 12 2011 at 23:04

I haven't found a female-specific site, yet, but I like the LeanSaloon blog and here are some fantastic posts on IF from pklopp on Mark's Daily Apple forum that you may find useful: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread27894.html http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread28459.html http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread29011.html
