I'm working hard with a bunch of Paleo enthusiasts to set up a high quality Paleo store, primarily for non-perishables with the hope of eventually moving into perishable items in certain local markets. I'm amazed there isn't a good online store that centralizes a lot of top quality Paleo products from different sources and I would like to fix that.

So my question is, which specific products do you think we absolutely must have for an online paleo store?

Fair shipping rates to Canada (i know this may be hard - but you asked what i would like to see)

Grass fed beef jerky

Good quality coconut products (including coconut aminos)

Paleo friendly supplements (Vit D3 and K2 in coconut oil or olive oil)

Macadamia nut oil and similar oils

Lots of spices (and good organic high quality ones!)

Please keep us up to date with your progress, as I'm sure to buy from you!

pate without grains (or dairy, though I eat that) would be great. I've recently considered trying dried ground mushrooms as a replacement for grain binders in pate, and while I haven't tried it yet, I think it may have promise. As for the dairy, well, a smooth liver pate is hard to do without it, but you could definitely do a more rustic country pate without dairy. Texture is different, but they're still good. Throw some pistachios in there... – tartare Apr 15 2011 at 2:12

PEMMICAN! I love US Wellness' but honestly it's just gotten too $$$ for me. Maybe I will try to make some of my own.

ok, Dr.K. question: I'm not gonna pretend I could afford to have foie gras on a regular basis (i wish), but, assuming the duckie gets fed corn (cause it does) to get the delightful fatty liver, does a person have to worry about the fat being poorly ratio-ed? not cause I wanna eat a whole lobe of foie (i do!) but because I'm considering buying a bucket of duck fat from hudson valley. I'm assuming its coming off of foie ducks. Would it be like grain fed tallow all bass ackwards in omegas or do the ducks keep all that business in their livers and the fat is not so bad? – tartare Apr 15 2011 at 3:04
i know you're not a vet, btw. – tartare Apr 15 2011 at 3:08

Fois gois is so loaded with good stuff it does not matter how they get the fatty liver......it's the one organ meat from an animal that goodness outweighs it's badness – The Quilt Apr 15 2011 at 17:56

Hello all, New to Paleohacks (what a great resource!) but not new to Paleo. I too have been working on a paleo marketplace for about a month. some of the products you guys have requested are already up on my site. not sure if I'll ever find duck liver pate or grassfed liverwurst, but stuff like coconut oil, cacao, grass fed jerky, pemmican, trail mix, nuts, etc. are items I already had up there before i found this post (paleo eaters think alike!) the site is functional, but still being built. check in mid may and it should be totally complete. Jonathan, let me know when your project is up and running. I like your idea of eventually taking products to local markets. best of luck! Greg www.paleodietandliving.com

real canned/boxed coconut milk w/o additives! and not the watery stuff. soo hard to find!

it would also be fun to see random (sustainable) lifestyle compatible things culled from around the net - e.g. cookbooks, shoes, iron cookware, sulfate/paraben-free body products and stuff.. not that i really use too many 'body products' - but ya know, many ppl do.
