anyone have suggestions for dining there? I had no idea how pricey this area was going to be. I will be the only Paleo person of 5, I can pack lunch and boil eggs etc for breakfast lunch but what about dinner? Anyone live there or near it? THanks, Theresa

** even though my vacation wasnt as relaxing as it could have been, I planned and cooked all meals but a few so that I could eat my way. i was able to explain by eating a little during some meals and even lost a few pounds on my vacation. If I would have slept properly i would have probably lost more but I swear we stayed in a nice place when in jackson hole but the walls must have been made of paper mache! while in yellowstone it was very quite but i was just too wound up but the views of each place were magnificent!

Will you be camping, or dining out? If the latter, there are lots of places that serve good steak, including some bars and lower-end places. If you're going out the west end of Yellowstone, check out Buck's T-4 near Big Sky on the way to Bozeman.

I am the oddball that cant currently eat red mead, supposedly due to ibs but probalby leaky gut...I digress, We will be dining out and probably tuckered out and only eating near idaho falls hotel, west yellowstone hotel or while we are in teh park of course, and in jackson wy. i am trying to keep it simple. I imagine i will be eating alot of salmon and chicken at dinner then packing breakfast and lunch. – paleoprimal Apr 20 2011 at 20:53

We spent 2 weeks camping in the Yellowstone/Teton area last summer. We only ate dinner out twice, and I had bunless bison burgers both times. The Yellowstone grocery had plenty of paleo stuff and there is a Whole Foods type of store in Jackson WY were we scored even better groceries.

You should be safe from the grizzlys, they went after the donuts left out on a picnic table in the campsite next to us. Just kidding --- grizzly's are a big deal and really scary when camping with little kids.
