Other than Sisson's "Grok On" shirts, I can't find any decent paleo shirts. I looked everywhere: zazzle, cafepress, googled for it...

I particularly want one that explains the evolutionary argument for paleo. I'm thinking: "Human Evolution entails Paleolithic Nutrition" or something along those lines. [Update: I made this shirt and posted it to Zazzle]

Does anybody know of any good shirts for sale? If not, does anybody have graphic design skills who would be willing to set up a Zazzle shop and post some designs? (Given the size of the paleo community, I'm stunned that nobody's jumped on this profit opportunity yet!)

EDIT BY PATRIK OF PALEOHACKS.COM BELOW:

Sorry to barge in on this question -- along these lines however, is there any interest in a official PaleoHacks.com or PaleoHacker t-shirt?

I'd be happy to take submissions and the PaleoHacks.com community could vote on them. I would then take pre-orders and sell them for a small profit.

What do you guys think? As always, please don't hold back. : )

Glad you asked! I'm a graphic designer by profession and make my living selling t-shirts. I have already started a line of Paleo / primal t-shirts with MANY more coming!

Diet, foodie, Paleo, etc t-shirts from Evil Genius Tees

I'm actually working on some more right now and they should be up today

. :)

Please feel free to check out ALL of our t-shirts at Evil Genius. We specialise in the weird, the geeky, the odd, and the snarky.

Great stuff! I'd suggest making one that says "Human Evolution entails Paleolithic Nutrition", or "Human evolution. Therefore, paleolithic nutrition." – Toban Apr 20 2010 at 16:25
I'd also suggest making a line of shirts featuring the leaders of the paleo community. Put their head, a one-liner, and their site. You could do Eades, Sisson, Taubes, Harris, and more! Look at these shirts for an example: mises.org/store/T-Shirts-C43.aspx – Toban Apr 20 2010 at 16:38
Those shirts are cool, @toban, but I can't use a person's image or his words w/out his permission and I doubt these blokes would let ME make money off of THEIR faces, LOL. I would so totally wear a Taubs t-shirt, though! Or Lierre Kieth!! – Blue -the Thrifty Mom Apr 20 2010 at 17:01
@Blue --- your tee-s look good! – Patrik Apr 20 2010 at 19:35
Thank you! I'm hot to help design one for PaleoHacks now! :) – Blue -the Thrifty Mom Apr 21 2010 at 12:31

Toban, I like the idea of having a t-shirt that espouses my particular dietary perspectives. We can find some ideas to get us started in the answers to this question about the Best Paleo Elevator Pitch and this Haiku Contest from Mark Sisson's 2009 Primal Challenge. Here's some haiku ideas that I submitted:

  • natural state, our call / meat, fat, veggies for us all / grow to be strong, tall
  • sometimes i like to / run through the grass barefoot and / get mud in my toes

If something is generated from Mark's blog or the comments therein, let's be sure to attribute appropriately. ;)

I also like the idea of using a version Kurt Harris' thoughts:

The diseases of civilization are largely related to abandonment of the metabolic conditions under which we evolved.

P.S. Patrik, as much as I'm addicted to this website, I'd prefer to where a shirt that supports paleo in general and not this website specifically.

P.P.S. I have some graphic design skills and would be open to generating some ideas.

Cool, you should set up a Zazzle shop and sell us some paleo gear. What do you think of my idea: "Human Evolution entails Paleolithic Nutrition", or "Human evolution. Therefore, paleolithic nutrition." – Toban Apr 20 2010 at 2:45

@Gilliebean -- No worries! I appreciate the candor and no offense is taken. :) – Patrik Apr 20 2010 at 6:17

I want a shirt that says: "Play barefoot. Eat meat. Evolve."

How about one with a loaf of bread that says: "Staff of death"! – Toban Apr 22 2010 at 0:25
Ooohh, I like both of these! If you don't mind my using your ideas, I CAN make these. I've been toying with some "monocrop agriculture is killing the planet' sorts of designs, too,(anti-vegan and anti carboholic as opposed to just pro paleo) but am unsure how far I should go. :/ – Blue -the Thrifty Mom Apr 22 2010 at 17:48
I'd wear an anti-vegan shirt. – Ryan May 23 2010 at 7:20
I'd wear antivegan and the above – Stephen-Aegis Jul 15 2010 at 1:23
Absolutely, I'd buy a shirt or two! – Mama J Jul 15 2010 at 6:34

I've looked at a lot of paleo shirts, but none seem quite right for me. The wording on many of those shirts seems kind of combative, as if their purpose is to start an argument. Fine for people who want to have that kind of discussion with strangers, but I don't. I want something low-key, perhaps amusing. I don't want the vegans to come and yell at me while I'm drinking coffee and reading my book. I just want to read my book.

It would be cool if there were some sort of symbol or logo that could help paleo people identify each other. Mark of Mark's Daily Apple is way ahead of the game with that Groko logo of his.

So far the paleo shirt I like best is the one that says "I find your lack of bacon disturbing." Excellent! But I do want a shirt that is for women, and with a neckline that an inch or so below my collarbone, not above. That bacon shirt didn't seem to have the cut I'm after.

Anyway. I'm just adding my comments in case they're useful to any t-shirt designers.

That's mine. :) It's meant to look like the wording from Star Wars on a black background, but the shirts are kind of limited in darker colors. Zazzle lets you put the design on any other shirt style, did you try that? – Eric P. Feb 5 2012 at 2:52
Eric, the shirt style that'd work for me only comes in pastel colours. Bleck! Oh well. Maybe one day Zazzle will have more options. – redberry Feb 5 2012 at 16:27

Are t'shirts paleo?

I couldn't resist asking. I would buy one!

I have a t-shirt from cafe press: "Meat. Fire. Good." I call it my caveman shirt. T-shirts are paleo, but only if you make it yourself from wooly mammoth. – Dave S. Dec 2 2010 at 17:38

Thanks for the links... not quite what I'm looking for though. I couldn't access your facebook link, perhaps because of your privacy settings. – Toban Apr 20 2010 at 1:20
I too could not access the facebook linky link. – gilliebean Apr 20 2010 at 1:46
Facebook link should work now. It was due to my privacy settings. – nathan Apr 20 2010 at 20:41
I can vouch for the paleo brands shirt -- it's really well done! – Larry May 14 2010 at 19:54

Hey, I run the website - Paleoblocks.com, and we're just getting some tee shirts printed right now. They're paleo/crossfit shirts, but you might find them funny! We have more designs coming out in the next few months. Go check out our first two designs! http://www.facebook.com/paleoblocks

I just opened a Paleo T-Shirt store on my site. Have a look at http://paleotshirts.com/

I'll be happy to get your opinions on the designs and choices.

I like them, but far too expensive for very few letters on a shirt. – Stephen-Aegis Feb 13 2011 at 19:16
Yeah, it's because of the brand, American Apparel. They're better quality and fit better than generic brands. I might change that if I see that people aren't looking for that kind of quality. – Paleo Seb Feb 14 2011 at 4:35
I'm a designer and those are exactly what I'd be after when it comes to paleo t-shirts. I'd pay for the AA fit. Great job! – Deniz Aug 22 at 9:28

I just want to say while these T-shirt threads are back up here that if Patrik were to make a really simple Paleohacks T-shirt, say, a white shirt with the Paleohacks logo on it, then I would buy about five of them. And I hope that sounds like friendly encouragement and not like pestering.

And I think I might have to buy some shirts from Seb, Blue, and Neill's brother also. You can never have enough T-shirts. Or: you can never give enough T-shirts as Christmas gifts ... – Paul Dec 2 2010 at 1:56

Nice link, but the word paleo is not all-inclusive either. Many now call it ancestral eating vs. paleo/primal/archevore etc. So it seems better to have shirts with no "label" just a message. – Nance Dec 2 2011 at 23:09

This is me raising my hand! I would definitely pick one up to support the site.

EDIT! I believe I've found what may be the best "Paleo" shirt to date:

http://bit.ly/cqQkWC

from the "Life Is Good" collection. Just got it as a gift. VERY pleased.

Great t-shirt on that paleoshirts site. Here is one that I like a lot - "Wheat Is Murder" at http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/2011/05/21/wheat-is-murder/

$19.99 and free shipping.

No women's sizes! Pity, I like this one. – Canis Minor Feb 4 2012 at 18:30

I have my own Zazzle site for this sort of thing.

My favorite one I found is "Wheat is Murder, Go Paleo"

I love that one, but I don't like how it promotes the movie Fat Head. It has a URL for it at the bottom. I thought the movie was cool, but I don't want to promote it on a t-shirt. – Dangph Jun 2 at 13:23

have you all seen this one? It explains the diet to all those people (what about beans? what about dairy? what about...) : http://nomnompaleo.spreadshirt.com/it-s-not-that-hard-regular-cut-A7621926/customize/color/4

Also this one for those of you who want to shout loud and proud about your feelings about wheat :) http://thelazycaveman.spreadshirt.com/wheat-is-murder-white-t-shirt-A7517569

How about this?

alt text

Tongue in cheek, but makes me laugh in my sleep-deprived state. I actually put it on my Zazzle site and may buy one just to piss people off. Kind of like me wearing my 'Bad Religion' t-shirt around on Sundays.

If your aim is to offend people who don't think or eat the way you do, you're well on your way with those two tshirts. – redberry Feb 6 2012 at 2:22
What's better? A 'Paleo' t-shirt, most of which are smug as hell (I'm better than you!), or a realistic, sarcastic, t-shirt that tells it like it is? I'll take the humorous t-shirt, and if some people get offended, oh well. I put the above together in 5 minutes, mainly to make a family member laugh for a reason directly related to the message on the shirt. Thanks for pointing out the obvious, though. – Nate Feb 6 2012 at 3:51
