Not asking for me..but sister, brother in law, and my 1 year old niece..who isnt eating much of the rotten formula/baby food she is fed anyway. My brother in law seems concerned. I sort of preach paleo to the family anyway, so I would like to be able to provide some good paleo options for the babies. Any ideas?

What is your neice's current diet, and what do you think that your brother and sister would be willing to feed her? (Or maybe more importantly what would they be willing to not feed her?) There are many good threads on here for babies and toddlers (here's a couple to start you off) http://paleohacks.com/questions/29279/paleo-babies#axzz1Krcif3sO http://paleohacks.com/questions/28914/panu-parents-to-infants#axzz1Krcif3sO http://paleohacks.com/questions/24224/intoducing-solid-food#axzz1Krcif3sO |

My wife had a Paleo pregnancy and all went fine. He is 11 months and still breast-feeding of course. We introduced bone broth first at 6 months and followed with scrambled egg yolks in Kerrygold and pureed lamb or buffalo with some organs a little later. After that, it was avocados, cooked spinach/kale, broccoli, peas, occasional sweet potato, carrots, etc. |

I have a baby girl on the way and have asked similar questions, WAPF has a great set of resources. A friend of mine also runs this site: http://www.babyledweaningblog.com/ Her focus is on "realfood" not 100% paleo. Hope that helps. |

Toddlers LOVE coconut. My daughter isn't fully Paleo, but she had weight gain issues. What seemed to help her keep her weight up is keeping her cup full of whole milk. At that age they should be nursing, so some kind of milk should be fine for her. Also, I used to pre-chew macadamia nuts for her. She LOVED them. You could also just chop them small in a food processor. Salted. Costco makes them more affordable. Toddlers are carb junkies. Just replace the crackers and such with fruit. Shredded cheese is also great. My kid likes Tillamook med. Cheddar. Veggies, nuts, and bacon will give them that crunch they love so much. You can make crackers out of cheese, also. Replace the goldfish. Trader Joes makes a wonderful full-fat yogurt option. There's a few flavors of Greek, plus whole milk regulars in 6 packs. Don't be too anal on them about no dairy or a smidgeon of sugar. Just get her off the cheerios to start. |

I make my little one coconut "milk" by mixing canned coconut milk (preferably guar gum free) with water and put it in her sippy cup. I also give her raspberry herbal tea. she loves bacon, banana slices, cooked diced carrots and squash, or even roast chicken or salmon cut into small pieces. scrambled eggs are usually a big hit with little ones, too. After about age 1 they can eat pretty much any paleo food grown ups eat, just cut into small pieces, mashed, or pureed. My daughter was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and paleo diet has practically reversed her condition. I have a blog about this (www.paleofreedom.com) and if we can do this, anyone can! |

I'm gonna go slightly off topic and ask if anybody has had a paleo pregnancy and how it went. |

I give my 9 month old just about everything I eat. Liver, ground beef, chicken, egg yolks, avocado, plenty of veges, some fruit. Of course the majority of his calories is from breast milk, but when he his done then it's all paleo and the transition should be simple. |

We are raising a mostly paleo baby, and his staples are: - Sweet potato - Avocado - Sardines - Grassfed beef - Eggs (pastured) - Blueberries - Brocolli - Salmon As he's gotten older, he is now consuming some unhomogenized cow's milk and occasionally some white rice (more for entertainment than for nutrition). Good snacks are coconut pancakes, almond butter, fruit, and cheese. |
