Hey, I've been doing paleo for about 5 months, and IFing for about 3. I've seen great results and I don't have too much more to lose. I do a 16/8 IF schedule most days. However, it's kind of inconvenient sometimes and I've been thinking of just doing it a couple days a week or stopping altogether. Would this hinder my progress or make me gain back the weight I've lost?

I posted a similar question here. Might want to browse it for additional info. And here |

I'd try playing with the feeding window- I'm trying to find the link, but I believe Martin Berkhan at Leangains recommends a 10 hour window for women. |

I know this isn't answering the question, but how can you call it Intermittent if it is scheduled and everyday? It seems to me, what you are proposing is more intermittent. |

i've done the 16/8 split for a couple months before and came off of it after having some sleep issues. i didn't gain any weight back while eating normalized paleo diet and still lost weight, although at a slower rate. gaining weight has more to do with the content of your food rather than whether you're if'ing or not, although if'ing can indeed be a useful tool in breaking through a plateau or speeding the process up. |

I believe that stopping would be counter-productive. I'm in about the same spot as you - 16/8 IF and very near the goal I set when I started several months ago. I've been wondering if the best way to transition would be to reduce the days I IF or to reduce the hours/day spent in the fasted state? |
