I just noticed in the last few weeks that the Whole Foods nearest to my house has dropped its per-brick cost of Kerrygold to $2.49, which beats the $2.69/$2.79 that I see at Trader Joe's in the region. In fact I haven't seen Kerrygold cheaper than $2.49, ever!
There was a sticker on the Kerrygold shelf at Whole Foods saying something about dropping the prices of staples, so it strikes me that Whole Foods might recognize that folks who seek pastured butter are stocking up a LOT on pastured butter wherever it's cheapest.
Is your Whole Foods' Kerrygold price suddenly stock-up-price lower?
i'll go check mine this week but the wegman's around my gf's area has it for 2.69. the harris teeter around my way sells the SAME one for 5.99!!! it was so ridiculous that i just started going to the wf near my job looking for the kerrygold and ended buying the lb carton of organic valley pastured butter for 5.49. i haven't bought kerrygold since.
Yep, I saw a special deal in Whole Foods at the end of April. Also, to my surprise, my local Wegmans droped the price to $2.79 after I complained to them. They used to sell it for $4.99 / 8oz.
