I have noticed that I usually get shivers after eating otherwise normal food. Could this be related to a hypothyroid, or my blood sugar being out of whack?
I wonder if its the blood moving from your arms and legs to your digestive tract after eating...kind of like when a person has a fever, the blood moves from the periphery to the core...and so the person feels cold.
As far as I know, with hypothyroidism, the hands and feet are almost always cold. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism several years ago - even through I had few of the symptoms. Mostly I was exhausted, my doctor did a bunch of blood tests and put me on Synthroid. After a number of years, I started to get a bunch of other symptoms. I checked out Stop The Thyroid Madness web site. Now I am on Armour Thyroid and do not have any of the old Synthroid symptoms. There is also a web site called Synthroid Haters.
I think Helen is right about the shivers. DO you get the same effects on low carb food? If not, or you do not know, give it a try. I expect that "normal food" is high carb.
