I know that whey can cause insulin spikes, but what about hemp protein? The hemp protein I have is actually mostly fiber (Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein Powder individual packets). Sometimes I want a quick way to supplement protein without cooking, but I've ditched whey because of the insulin spikes. Trying to lose the last 5 lbs.

Not only does it taste terrible, it seems to go rancid pretty quickly.
