Good or bad? It's local since I live in Hawaii, smoke point is 387F. I've read to avoid nut oils but macadamia seems to be a "special" nut in the paleo community. What do you guys think?
edit: expeller-pressed- ok?

I use it an love it. I don't cook with it but use it for finishing (drizzling, dressing, etc) Still think there are better choices for cooking (CO, ghee, tallow) but I think mac oil is fabulous to have around and certainly the best seed nut oil choice there is. Avocado oil is great too if you are looking for a bit of variety. |

I bet it would make superb mayo! Yum...especially seems like a good choice since it's local for you...still, I would go easy on a non-animal source oil... |

Less PUFAs than Olive oil. A good source of MUFA. It has a more neutral taste than Olive oil, so good for making asian dishes. |

As I said in another post, when I asked Chris Masterjohn which oil he recommends for making mayo, he said macadamia oil. And he knows more about oil than the Rockefellers. I also have used it to fry at 350 degrees and it is the best oil I ever tried. Wonderful buttery taste. |

I've found it best with spices or splashes of flavor as a salad dressing. |
