I've ditched all vegetable oils and fry with the bacon grease I gather when I panfry my bacon. However, since I don't eat bacon everday, I have a limited supply of this.
Any lard or beef tallow that can be purchased readily from stores that are Paleo-compliant? I understand that the Armour brand of lard is "hydrogenated lard". Unfortunately, that's all that I see being carried by ShopRite or A&P. (Would WholeFoods carry something kosher?)
I don't have the time to make my own tallow, ghee or lard. And I'm trying to be dairy-free because of my autoimmune issues. I don't trust EVOO for frying. And I find coconut oil (which I put 2 tbsps everyday in my coffee) to be a bit expensive for frying everyday vegetables (parsnips, summer squash, yuca, etc.), eggs and beef with impunity.
