I was wondering if there was a search site to find paleo thinking people? Especially doctors and groups. It is frustrating to be "the only one" that has this mindset in a small Virginia town. I also get so frustrated talking to dr's about anything at all. I have one dr that recommends that I eat Flinstone vitamins for my iron!?!? Help
Not to worry. I am busy working on a solution to this. I will just let you know that the tentative site name will be PaleoGrok.com. Thought it was nice play on word combining Heinlein's notion of "Grok" (group conversation/thinking) and the CavemanGrok
I've found when living an "alternative lifestyle", you must find alternative practicioners. I'm luchky to live in an area lush in organics and "alternatives" and a strong small family farm supportive region. My homeopath is familiar and supportive of my nutritional choices and supports self care. In my first appointment with her, she spent a full hour getting to know my health and recommended I buy a homeopathic kit and a specific book so that I could begin taking my health into my own hands. I've since become more herbally inclined and she's cool with that too, thinks it's great and doesn't fret about not seeing me annually. Maybe there's a holistic practice, homeopath, naturopath, herbalist, someone specializing in Chinese med or Ayurveda, etc. in your area. Personally, I find a good chiropractor indespensable.
