Next year I'll be wrapping up my last two semesters in my undergrad education (Business Major ^^ ). Some space has opened up in my schedule and I'm thinking about taking a basic Nutrition class. Do you guys think it would be worth it to take? Even though I'm a business major, I want to go into health, nutrition, and fitness after I graduate. I do a ton of reading and research on my own but I figure it'd look good to have taken nutrition. I know all of the comments are gonna be about how junky most nutrition classes are but do you guys think I'd get anything out of it? Any applicable information for us paleos? I was also thinking about taking human physiology but I need to take genetics before I can take it...
Out of curiosity? What areas have you all studied/are studying?
I think it'd be better to take a biochemistry class. If you take nutrition, you're going to get a lot of the saturated fat clogs your arteries and other BS. Biochemistry will help you understand the basic mechanisms of everything and the whys, not just the whats. Physiology would be good if you could either take the genetics class or somehow get the prereq waived.
this past winter i took a basic nutrition class at a community college and learned very little. the nutritionist who lead the class was entrenched in Canada's Food Guide and loved the phrase "evidence based".
i started paleo two weeks before the class ended and she was appaulled.
