Do you eat LaraBars? And if so which is your favorite?

Ginger Snap, of course, because it has the highest fat content.

I was weirdly addicted to Lära Bars for about two weeks and then it went away. I still think they're pretty tasty, though.

It's kind of amazing that they can taste as good as they do with such minimal ingredients. Back during my period of addiction I ran out and tried to satisfy the craving by eating some dates with some nuts. It didn't work. The mystery remains ....

Edit: So I was looking to double check and found out that I was right to claim what I did, but the claim is slightly misleading. Ginger Snap does in fact have the highest fat content, but it's tied with Pecan Pie -- and Pecan Pie actually has fewer total calories. So to do penance, I'll list the fat calories, total calories, and percentage fat for all the bars that have a fat percentage of 50% or higher, from highest to lowest percentage. It's fun being crazy!

OK, well obviously you're not going to experience a huge difference in fat-derived satiety by eating the 52.2% Cashew Cookie instead of the 50.0% Chocolate Coconut Chew (and of course there are lots of other things involved in satiety, like, say, the ingredients -- e.g., whether the fat is PUFA from the nuts or SFA from the coconut oil), but I do think there's a big difference between eating a Ginger Snap Lara Bar and something like a Cherry Pie Lara Bar, which only has 35% fat. So even if these little monsters are addictive and you only eat them while traveling or while otherwise in a pinch, it's good to know that some of them will be more satiating than others.

Not to be a cranky-pants, but I don't eat any "bars" at all. They just propagate the myth that heavily processed / baked / dried / sweetened / packaged foods are somehow good for you. They're not. They're all just candy bars. – UncleLongHair Jun 5 2011 at 15:58

Cashew cookie, hands down. I went through a year intolerant to almonds and pecans (and macadamias). This was the only one I could eat without causing horrific stomach pain and diarrea. Incidentally, it's also my favorite for taste and texture, and has 2 grams more protein than most of the rest, therefore less sugar.

Ah crack-abars. Love em all unfortunately. Except cherry. Do not like cherry. My official vote also goes to Ginger snaps. Runners up would be Pecan pie, Cashew (a big fat no no!), and Banana bread. But all a moot point really since I have no control when those things are in the same room as I so I just don't buy/eat them. Will travel with them but otherwise no-can-do.

I consider them an occasional treat...

My favorite is the lemon. A close second is the pecan pie. To me, the lemon is perfect with the acidity and sweetness, but I really like pecan pie, and the larabar tastes almost like it, but without the sugar of eating an entire pie :)

Carrot Cake! I don't buy them anymore because they're ridiculously high in sugar and just too addicting.

I get mine at Whole Foods. So far, I've tried the Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Coffee and Chocolate versions of the Jocalat Larabars. I've yet to try the Chocolate Mint one. larabar.com/products/jocolat – Leanne Jun 6 2011 at 5:14

Coconut cream! I'm trying to cut down on them too....too easy to eat and high in sugar. But they're great to have in my handbag in case I get stuck somewhere without food...that is, until I can find beef jerky that's not made with tons of sugar and nitrates and crap!

I can't handle all that sweetness, but I get them on occasion for my kids...I just bought the carrot cake flavor for them today, and was surprised to see that there's coconut oil in the ingredients ....hopefully they like it! They like all the chocolate flavors, but I rarely let them eat chocolate ...I make bars sometimes using Nora Gedgaudas' nutball snackers recipe as an idea to go off of. http://www.primalbody-primalmind.com/blog/?p=459 They don't transport as easily as larabars, but they are much higher fat and low sugar!

I try to just have one per week or so- coconut cream pie is my fave, and when I want to be really bad, I have a chocolate chip cookie one :)

I really wish Larabar would use something other than dates as their base...they are just too high sugar for me. I eat them as an occasional treat. I've tried the cherry and coconut cream pie and brownie. They are all good really!!

I like the blueberry ones... but I like anything blueberry. The coconut one is also pretty tasty. Like the others have said they, they are a very rare treat and should be eaten with regularity due to their very high sugar content.

Oh Wow, you all just opened up my world. I had no idea most of the ones you are talking about exist. I can only find them at Target and other normal stores around here, so all we have tried is apple pie and cherry pie. My kids eat them so fast I rarely get any. You make my mouth water for a vacation to hippie land. Hugs to all of you!

Pre-paleo, I definitely enjoyed the PB&J. Perfect combo of salty and sweet.
