Yes, they are so good! Oxtail is even better in some ways but cheeks have more meat for the same price. But its so satisfying to eat oxtail on the bone. I braise them in red wine and thick beef stock. It is amazing how flavorful the brasing liquid is. – Jan Jun 5 2011 at 17:38

I always include beef cheeks in my order list to local grass fed farm. This time i included beef tendons, i hope they can supply them. I just love all kinds of gelatenous things, even more than meat :) – Jan Jun 5 2011 at 17:41

Kangaroo is the cheapest meat I can get from the supermarket! I was freaking out about not being able to find easy grass fed beef until I realized I had the best source of wild game meat :D Still I gotta get some grassfed beef as variety is King right? – PaleoMouth Jun 5 2011 at 21:58

it's not "naughty" to eat sweet potato at times other than PWO – citrusfire Jan 25 2012 at 15:59

I go through anxiety attacks if I run out of eggs, Paleo or not. No matter how broke I am, if I have enough eggs in my fridge, it'll allllllll be okay. (especially when there's nothing else in the fringe. Next I guess is butter to cook those eggs in. Drinking water. Our tap water here has the crap that was in the Erin Brokovich movie. Whole milk. My toddler doesn't eat much, and I rely on this to keep her protein, fat, and calories up. I try to keep it organic when I can afford $6/gallon. Tillamook med cheddar cheese. My husband NEEDs it on his eggs. This is more here to prevent whining. My kid likes snacking on it, too. It's one of the only cheddars I can stand the flavor of.

Yeah, I get anxious if the egg count is low. Intact this month I am keeping a tally to see how many eggs I eat. Which will include the 6 TURKEY eggs I bought yesterday, they are crackers! Lol – Minnie The Minx Jun 5 2011 at 14:27

Since I source pretty much all my food differently, this would be a two-part question:

Shopping List:

  • Omega-3 eggs (if I'm out of pastured)
  • Organic Veggies (whatever is in season)
  • Canned goods (tomato paste, organic broth)
  • Kerrygold (I can make due w/out butter and use tallow/coconut oil, but my wife cannot)
  • Coffee

But these things I would not want to run out of:

I'll answer in categories because I always make sure I have some, if not all, of the foods in each of these categories:

  1. Coconut products (milk, oil, flakes, fresh, etc....)
  2. Greens (esp. kale, spinach, chard, cabbage...also often collards, parsley, cilantro, bok choi, and whatever else looks fresh and catches my fancy!)
  3. Meat (grass-fed beef, fish, seafood, bacon)
  4. Crunchy veggies (carrots, celery, jicama...)
  5. Fruit (esp. grapefruit and apples)

I do like to try to get all the variety in my diet that I can, but these are the staples!
