Hi everyone,
Lately I've been scaling up my fat intake by adding coconut oil, coconut butter, coconut milk, and some ghee into the mix as before I don't think I was getting enough fat into my diet (I'm wrapping up a month on paleo). While I've liked the feeling of fullness that comes from eating more fat I've also noticed that I don't seem to be digesting it that well. I know it takes longer to digest fat in the stomach, but after I eat and for a long time afterward I'll have some discomfort on my front side right below the rib cage, sometimes it's a little noisy down there but generally it just feels kinda tender and heavy. I also get burping that lasts as long as a couple hours after the meal. It's 11:00 right now and I can sense my stomach still working on the meal I ate at 6:30... Today I decided to add some NOW super enzymes into the mix (two tablets with meals) but I'm not sure if that's really helped yet. Does my body just have to get adapted to the high fat intake? Up until now I haven't been eating too much fat and consequently have been hungry alot on paleo.
One thing I plan on doing is a liver cleanse, would this help optimize the efficiency of my gallbladder? Is my stomach acid low, should I look into some HCL?
Thanks guys!
