I seen a infomercial on this machine that you can put frozen fruit into and it come out like ice cream. Its called the yonanas machine(www.yonanas.com) and I know it looks corny but just wondering if anyone has used this machine and if it works because that would be awesome if it worked as advertized

I have a yonanas maker and it works amazing. Totally different product and experience than trying any other machine. They nailed making an ice cream substitute with this machine. A blender will not make this. Tried it before, and you have to add liquid and you end up with a smoothies. Food processor takes forever and the consistency is not like ice cream. Also a hassle to clean up. Yonanas are thick and creamy and twirl up right out of the machine into a bowl just like at Dairy Queen...except that is 100% fruit. 15 seconds to clean up. And only $50!!! This is going to be very popular. I recommend it! |

A Paleo dream! Just came here to RAVE about the Yonanas machine... I just got it at Bed Bath & Beyond (Canada) with their 20% off coupon for $48 last weekend, and I love it! I've been making healthy 100% PALEO treats using just frozen fruit, (nothing else!), and it really does come out just like smooth creamy ice cream! And no, a blender does NOT work like this does, it requires adding a liquid that this does not. I've been making banana/mango because that's what I had in the freezer already and yuuuuum. I noticed the mango comes out so good on its own you really don't have to use bananas if you don't want to, if it's too sweet for your diet. I just cut up and froze some honeydew to try next. Seriously, this thing is awesome for paleo! I have no more need to "cheat" with real ice cream anymore... which, unfortunately, embarrassingly, I had been doing. Clips galore on youtube if you're curious. |

No, but to make banana ice cream I freeze them and then put them in the food processor. Not sure why I would want a specific machine for this. You could also use mushed up bananas and put them in a regular ice cream machine, but I don't have one. Edited to add link to recipe with pictures, this uses a blender but it is the same basic process |

Oh my goodness this looks amazing. I can't wait to get some bananas, make them old, and make this. I bet it would be good if you swirled some peanut or almond butter into it. |

I actually won one of these from an online contest. After owning it for a few months, I would say it is pretty cool, but if you own a food processor, pretty unnecessary. It does make a very ice cream-like treat, but I can make something similar in my Cuisinart food processor. Also, it is extremely loud when running. It is easy to clean (and I don't have a dishwasher), but to me, it's just an extra gadget taking up more cabinet space. |

The ninja is AMAZING... I toss frozen fruit in spin it for a minute (if that) and you have an amazingly delicious fruity frozen treat... better than ice cream! |

I have to say I have JUST seen the infomercial. I hope they sell them in England because I WANT one Now! Oh dear. I have been brainwashed by the marketers. I will sleep on it and see if I still want one tomorrow. |
