As a type 1 diabetic, Crossfit 3x a week has been a great benefit to me, however I'm curious of the other type 1's and as to your workout program and what adjustments you make to insulin and diet on workout days? As much detail as possible, such as age, diet specifics, ext.

I don't have any personal experience here, but I just listened to this, and thought you might find this podcast relevant: robbwolf.com/2011/07/19/… They talk about issues regarding T1 diabetes and strenuous exercise in at least two of the questions. – losterman Jul 22 2011 at 0:27

After listening to the Robb Wolf pod...he is right in that you should try to keep the cortisol and glucagon quiet. Check your BS before during and after. Yoga, Tai Chi intermittent with more high intensity. Dr. Bernstein does a little weights, lots of recombinant bike. I am a yoga, Tai Chi, weights and Martial Arts type 1. You will knoqw what is good for you by what keeps your BS normal and your insulin normal. Age 53, diet...high fat/moderate protein/low carb.

I know i'm a little late to this post but I was wondering if you figured out what works well for you.

I am also a type 1 diabetic and i'm pretty new to paleo. I do weights and occasional cardio but i'm trying to create a set plan. Any ideas?

Also type 1, since I was 8 - now 23. I have done a variety of things but lately it's been a strength-training routine put together by a personal trainer (some cardio mixed with weight lifting).

I find that if I work out first thing in the morning, before I eat anything, I'll be okay to go without bolusing. If I eat a snack before I go, I'll take a small bolus because even protein brings me up... which I'm sure you know! (Today was cottage cheese and almonds.)

Not a lot of info there, but I'm always trying different stuff out.
