Any ZCs out there with some good info?
Thanks!

I'm personally quite fond of the Dirty Carnivore site (full disclosure: I'm a moderator there), but if someone's trying to be very strict ZC, and that someone is also a beginner, it might be rough to do with all the talk of salads and salsa and whatnot going on (not a problem for me; I've got thick callouses). But they're great people, pretty science- and data-oriented, and not religious at all about food. Definitely worth a tour around the site to pick up some pointers and info. The site that sort of put ZC on the map, for better or worse, is Zeroing In On Health. I joined their forum when I was a beginning ZCer, and am still fond of a lot of the folks on the forum. They're pretty hardcore, and they helped me really stick to my plan. Other people find them...zealous. (That's a mild word; people who dislike them use much more colorful language.) It's definitely worth reading the material they've got available, whether or not you're a forum member. And the thread that got me going, that has a lot of great and not-so-great information, and is also a fascinating, long-running, humongous argument, is the Active Low-Carber Forum's thread started by Owsley Stanley, aka The Bear. The moderators shut it down long, long ago, but it's still great reading -- everyone will find something in there to raise their blood pressure, lol. |

you can find a lot of info regarding ZC on the net just by searching, but i'd advice to consider ZC a tool - - - not an ultimate goal: it's awesome if used wisely, but can be counterproductive if abused or over-obsessed about as i understand (and feel) ZC works like a 'fasting with nutrients': in absence of direct dietary sources of glucose body enters in sort of 'starvation mode' though you're not actually starving: so for a while you're enjoying benefits of both fasting and feeding - however, do it really long term, and limit yourself to muscle meat only regimen - and the curve of 'diminishing returns' would plunge below zero leaving you worse off |
