I once read in Cosmopolitan Magazine that cold showers make your nipples perky ALL DAY!

That's why I start everyday with a cold shower. – Phoenix Jun 16 2011 at 11:11

That's why I prefer to do my Peeping Tom thing in the mornings instead of the evenings. – CaveRat Jun 17 2011 at 23:24

In regards to raw veggies:

In the book Conscious Eating Gabriel Cousens writes that ' from a quantum physics point of view, Photons never become old, they have the same quickness as time', they are involved with anti entropy, the anti again process. The sun emits this powerful photon anti aging energy. The sun's photon energy is attracted to the sun like electrons within our biological systems. So not only do the high electron foods donate electrons to our bodies, but they also act as solar resonance fields in the body to attract, store and conduct the sun's energy in our bodies. Light attracting Light. Minerals are frequencies of light, Live raw foods are packed with both electrons and minerals, and therefore light. When we eat these foods, we are in fact eating the light of the Sun and activating the light from within us which shines, radiates and attracts more light.

This must be true, right? Mystery solved.

Makes sense to me. Time to switch to The Paleo Diet (Photon Variant). – Kamal Jun 16 2011 at 14:55

Don't you hate it when Raw Vegans allude to Quantum physics. – Thomas Seay Jun 16 2011 at 16:40
Anytime I see quantum I get out hte salt shaker. Didn't drk bring up some quantum mechanics of the leptin senSORS? they exist at the same time, everywhere - duh – ben61820 Jun 16 2011 at 16:56
Every time I see quantum, I get out my gun :) Or I at least roll up my pants. – Thomas Seay Jun 16 2011 at 18:37

Weird that there are so few answers to this question.

I have another candidate. This one has been vexing me from time to time over the last few months. Why does so much animal fat taste suspicious? Even when it's from grass-fed animals the fat can make me a little queasy. I've also controlled for parts of the animal: one fatty lamb shank will give me the ickies but another one will send me into transports. I've noticed the same thing with tallow as well. Sometimes it's delicious and sometimes it's suspicious. (Although here we can't control for the parts of the animal as much. Melissa HGL did ask a question about this once but it has not gotten all that many responses.)

Are there pollutants/toxins sneaking their way into the fat even of pastured animals? Is it the long transport time (think of lamb from New Zealand)?

It seems to me I should be eating beef tallow all day long every day but I have not had very much luck with this.

I too have noticed variation; could it tie to the favorite foods of the animal in question, or (shudder) health issues? After all, even a grass fed animal can get sick or have underlying physical issues and I doubt they get blood panels when their time is up, do they? – Nance Nov 5 2011 at 0:21
Yes, Nance, good question. It just seems there are so many damn variables. Another way of thinking about it: why is pastured butter (from Organic Valley, say, or Kerrygold) so consistently delicious and non-weird-tasting, but body fat isn't? The cow is doing some additional "filtering" in making her milk? – Paul Nov 5 2011 at 0:24
The other thing about it is it's just so disconcerting. It's one thing to say "hey we're not paleo re-enactors, so we have nothing against butter," but it's another thing to be forced into a position where we have to say "butter is superior to body fat." It seems like that's one of the things my ancestors were doing that I really feel like I should be able to re-enact, if you know what I mean. – Paul Nov 5 2011 at 0:32

Seth Roberts showed a pretty negative downside to cold showers here.

I don't think his results are bulletproof. Like one commenter said, 2lbs? I crap 2lbs in a morning. That's signal noise. – Futureboy Jun 16 2011 at 15:57

I think Paleo HD is a fad like 3D. I like my paleo low def. – Scott Jun 17 2011 at 17:04

Paleo HD is a form of Paleo started by our very own Thomas Seay. It is a variation of Paleo that alows HD vanilla ice cream! – Eric
