I dropped my blender last week and am in dire need of a replacement. Is there a paleo-approved frontrunner? I'm thinking I'll get a hand/stick one (like the kitchenaid immersion) for small stuff, mayo, and baby food but I really need a regular one as well. Smoothies are a favorite so something that does well with ice please.

I've gone through big blenders, magic bullets, etc. This $14 Hamilton Beach blender is my current one and all time favorite. Does mayo and crushes ice better than the most expensive one I've had. |

I absolutely love the stick blender combo made by Kitchenade that comes with the whisk, stick and container. I got it one, in red from Amazon. I noticed they now have one made by Nesco for about half as much, but I'm not sure I'd be happy with a cheapie for something I use quite a bit. It's really powerful, easy to clean, and the blades can be sharpened. |

I've got the classic Oster Beehive in red. Looks awesome in my kitchen and does what I need it to do. A Vita mix would be totally badass, but I think about what it does that my current blender doesnt, and I cant think of anything. I'm sure it crushes ice better, but I prefer my NorCal Margaritas on the rocks. :) |

For power the Vitamix is the best bar none, and a complete 3year warranty. I had an Oster for years, and it worked great too. |

Mush your food with dirty fingers like your cavemen ancestors did. |

Get the NINJA express chop! You can find it at Target for $20. I've made smoothies with it, chopped almonds (pretty much into almond meal), and I also made whipped cream with it in about a minute! I highly recommend it! |

I love my Waring blender. It works really well, it's super minimalist, and has a fun retro style with very little plastic. I also have a, don't laugh, a magic bullet which is great for grinding coffee, making quick shakes to go, etc. The Waring is my powerhouse, the bullet is for everyday stuff. |

I am a kitchen gadget fanatic. I guess it depends on what you blend the most. Do you make sauces, mayo, etc.? Then an immersion blender is great for that. I have a Vitamix to make everything else, from nut butter to real butter to soup. I bought it used on Ebay - still pricey but nowhere near the top $ they are trying to get for those new ones! |

Vitamix is great, had one...it blew it's gears (had it for 5 years). We now have just a regular blender by hamilton beach, works just fine, BUT...I have heard MANY good things about that "Ninja" blender thingy...am checking into one of those. I know some people that have one and LOVE it. |

I love my Bamix hand blender...it's not quite as powerful as a full-on vitamix, but much cheaper and no big glass container to mess with. Awesome smoothies, great mayo, makes nut flour...I don't know what i'd do without it! Here it is on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000VZBVW/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/175-6986915-6039739 |

Love my immersion blender! Actually gave my regular blender to my daughter moving into her own place next month as I never use it any more. |

I <3 my Magic Bullet. I use it every day, often times multiple times a day. I don't think I was actually alive before I got it. |

I second the magic bullet. I would have never bought it but my husband did. He was right. It is so convenient, being able to blend, mix so many things without having to stop and wash out the huge heavy jar. Many little jars. Also a stick blender is a must. |

You can't beat a vitamix, I love making my green soups in there, but for an immersion blender I use my handy cuisinart it's so easy to grab out of the drawer and I can do so much with it. It's reasonably priced too. Read about it here. |

I have a related question. I am really sensitive to ingesting air - one sip of a carbonated drink and I'm instantly uncomfortable. Can't burp properly. Wondering if any of the above brands are less "airy" than others, like they whip less air into whatever's being blended. I'd love to drink smoothies but it's the air that I fear. |
