I would like to know what products you wish were available, both realistic and silly fantasy. How much would you pay to have these available?

Me, I wish someone sold something cute for my kid to snack on. Paleo cheddar bunnies or animal crackers or something. Paleo cola would also be awesome, since my husband can't live without his diet Pepsi.

Oh, and I'd pay about $3-4 for a standard box of the snacks, and maybe up to $2/liter of the cola. – Sara Jun 20 2011 at 23:57

Would the animal crackers be made with real animals? – Kaz Jun 21 2011 at 1:17

Are the cookies made with real girl scouts? – Aughra Jun 21 2011 at 4:16
It could be. Is there a way to make them crunchy and shelf-stable? – Sara Jun 21 2011 at 19:19

OK, this is not a product, but google "japanese egg molds", they're little plastic molds that you pop a hot hard boiled egg in, stick it in the fridge for a few hours and the egg comes out looking like a car or a bunny rabbit or something. My 3 year old loves them! – jj Jan 14 2012 at 18:36

egg + oil + lemon juice + garlic. immersion blender. 20 second mayo. – being Jun 21 2011 at 1:19
@akd, what kind of oil do you like to use? – g. Jun 21 2011 at 2:26

akd, mayo doesn't have garlic. That's aioli. – MF Jun 21 2011 at 2:33

but garlic makes everything better grenadine... :) – Leanne Jun 21 2011 at 4:07

I'd love for stores to sell real bone broths in the freezer section for those times my farmer's market meat seller didn't bring any (or sold out) or I got lazy and forgot to make it and I have a hankering for stoup

A Paleo-friendly day-care and preschool that allows the climbing of trees, serves lamb shanks or bison jerky instead of goldfish crackers, raw milk (or coconut) instead of juice, and will help with elimination communication and/or cloth diapers with the infants.

Oh man what I wouldn't give for pre-made bone broth! Money is one thing I definitely would give. Making broth is a bit of a pain. Ya gotta get bones, smell up the joint, skim the fat, blah blah blah. Why can't some paleo entrepreneur pre-make this? – Kamal Jun 21 2011 at 4:31
yeah, I'm definitely hating cooking broth in the summer! – Aughra Jun 21 2011 at 4:33
And not US Wellness's bone broth that costs a million dollars, either. – Kamal Jun 21 2011 at 4:36
good veal stock. Buy a pressure cooker, makes the best stock in two and half hours, and no skimming. – Jan Jun 21 2011 at 8:19

You don't make what mark sisson describes As "I’m talking three-day epic bone-disintegrating broth with Sally Fallon herself manning the stock pot while being presided over by the spirit of Weston A. Price. Broth that solidifies at room temperature. Broth that doubles as shoe-gel inserts." in a pressure cooker in 2 hours. :-D I cooked mine 2-3 days – Aughra Jun 21 2011 at 9:28

How about Paleo Toilet paper? Basically, it's like Vibrams for your hand.

How about a T-Shirt that says "Crossfit and Paleo" so that everyone knows that you suffer from chronic inflammation (from the Crossfit) AND that you are doing something about it (Paleo).

Ice Cream with no sugar or artificial sweeteners at all. Things like chocolate or a bit of fruit added in would be fine though.

Yes, and no Guar Gum. – Marie Jun 21 2011 at 3:41

that would be awesome. i am tempted to get a machine so that i can make my own. – peter Jun 21 2011 at 4:02
Frozen fruit in blender with a bit of coconut milk works for me! Especially good with bananas. – The hacker formerly knownasron Jan 14 2012 at 19:47

How about none. Isn't that the problem with the currently installed institution?

I get that. But sometimes life happens and we don't have the time to slave over a hot oven making our own beef jerky all day. – Sara Jun 21 2011 at 19:07

In the spirit of fun how about potato and/or sweet potato chips cooked in coconut oil w/ sea salt. – Edward J. Edmonds Jun 24 2011 at 8:44
That's the spirit! And I agree, I've been looking for something like that for my toddler. She loves chips. I've ruined her. – Sara Jul 1 2011 at 16:15

The toughest part of paleo, IMO, is the time-intensiveness of cooking all the time, and the difficulty of finding quality ingredients. So I would love to see a paleo grocery store chain - something like Trader Joe's, but that only sells paleo-friendly products. Let's call it Trader Grok's. My dream Trader Grok's would offer lots of prepared foods that you could pick up for a work lunch or for dinner on a lazy night.

... Maybe we could convince Trader Joe's to start a Trader Grok's line of products...

I like that idea- I see so many delicious-looking frozen items at TJs, but never paleo-friendly :( – Jules K Jun 21 2011 at 12:32
This would be my #1. Prepared food that is guaranteed to be paleo-friendly. – themobiustrip Jun 21 2011 at 19:01

I miss flour tortillas. A whole lot. And with celiac disease, it's not even a cheat I can have. I've tried a rice flour tortilla (the only available locally) and they're very hard to work with and taste like cardboard or soggy cardboard if made as a wrap and stored too long.

You just made me drool. I'm missing Mexican food something bad: enchiladas, tacos, burritos. Have you tried almond or coconut flour? If not, I will. I'm jonesing right now. – baconbitch Jun 21 2011 at 2:01

If you have success, please let me know! I do cheat with an occasional corn tortilla/hard shell, but it's just not the same. If I'm craving just Mexican in general, I make taco meat from scratch and do a salad with it, sans chips/hard shell. There just isn't any replacement so far for a good chewy flour tortilla :( – Rock_Paper_Shirley Jun 21 2011 at 2:13
I used to get the rice tortillas; they were impossible to use as a wrap (they would always crack on me), but I would cut them up, add a little olive oil & salt, then throw them in the oven and they made pretty decent chips! – Jules K Jun 21 2011 at 12:28

Food For Life makes sprouted corn tortillas. No gluten. Organic. Frozen. Pretty tasty. Kinda tough texture but whatever – ben61820 Jun 21 2011 at 18:13
If you can get yourself some plantain flour (make sure its not mixed with other stuff like potato starches - you can order from Amazon or get it at a local Latin grocery shop - just ask around), you can make these kateshealthycupboard.com/gluten-free-recipes/… – typeogirl Feb 12 at 15:21

-Chocolates and coconut milk that have been treated with cellulase and phytase.

-Tapioca bread/pancakes/whatever without 3000 ingredients from rice and beans.

-Salt substitute from citric acid and dried herbs(Like Benson's Table Tasty but without yeast and nightshades).

-Fully pasture fed no grain/legume poultry and eggs. At least none that I saw here in NY.

That'd be a great start.

Gummy bears sweetened with only glucose/rice syrup/tapioca syrup. Then you'd have tasty gelatin and starch! I love gummy bears :/.

Premade marinades and sauces would be nice. There's always sugar, gluten, or O6 oils. Always. I don't have a ton of time to make my own, and I'm really pretty lazy when it comes to cooking.

Grassfed ice cream with no weird additives, sweetened with glucose only sources or stevia/erythritol.

Gluten free products with only white rice, tapioca, and potato starch. No soy, corn, beans, etc. I would love a nice pizza crust.

I'd love a line of bottled salad dressings that were made with a friendly oil. I do, of course, make my own oil + vinegar for my BAS, but oh the decadence in being able to just open a bottle of Ceasar or French or Ranch and just call it done.

And I'd pay $8-12 for the privilege...good oil ain't cheap!

Oh, and canned chili without weird crap in it...why chili needs gums and soy protein and oatmeal in it, I'll never know. But I do love the convenience of popping open a can to top a sweet potato and calling that dinner. That's worth at least $6/can to me.

I know this is a way old thread, but I've got one product that would be a blockbuster. Plantain chips fried in coconut oil. I KNOW a food company can do it, a couple stores near me carry plantain chips fried in veg oil and the only ingredients are plantains, vegetable oil (usually soybean or canola) and salt. Why isn't someone making these in coconut oil???

I've found a few fried in Palm Oil... and they are the only ones I buy. – Joshua Jan 14 2012 at 20:12

Inka Chips brand are made with palm oil if I recall correctly. Also,Trader Joe's (at least the one near my crib) has banana chips fried in coconut oil. – Higgs Jan 14 2012 at 20:45

Non-modified fats such as tallow, lard, and schmaltz without having to go to specialty stores. The versions I've seen at normal grocery stores have all been hydrolyzed or joined with an "emulsifier".

Pork loins at the grocer with the fat cap intact, so I can make wet-cured English style bacon. (I've asked my butcher and he tells me he only gets the whole loin shipped to him, he can't control the amount of fat on it).

Dehydrated meats where the ingredients are "meat, salt" and that's it.

As far as paleo cola goes, I know it is no replacement but I love lime/lemon and carbonated water, and have it every once in awhile.

Dehydrated bacon. Or bacon chips. Or really anything that would make bacon more portable. That would be fantastic.

Are bacon bits too small? Or are you specifying pastured bacon? – Sara Jun 21 2011 at 19:16
huh? bacon is pret-ty freakin portable. – g. Jun 21 2011 at 19:30
I was just thinking something less greasy than regular cooked bacon so it doesn't require major hand degreasing afterward but not treated with a bunch of chemicals (bacon bits). I can't have it all, I guess... – jared Jun 22 2011 at 13:54

I want human chow. A tasty slop of all-in-one nutrients that you could eat and be done with food for the day. Maybe you could have six or seven different types for variety over the week. Can you tell I can't cook? Kind of sad, but if such a product were ever made, you know people would buy it!

I think Mark Sisson makes that, and calls it Primal Fuel. – Sara Jul 1 2011 at 16:17
ahh, thanks! might just check it out. has anyone here ever tried it? – John Naruwan Jul 2 2011 at 0:22

A 27,000 acre tract of open land where I can roam and hunt and gather and live like a man instead of being crammed in a city where I live more like a potted plant, with just enough space and nutrients to keep my pitiful body alive so that I can provide a constant supply of money to the rest of the monetary food chain.

To have a purpose in life other than digging out of debt.

To have actual control over my own life, instead of obeying rules and laws set up to ensure that the most unfit among us can survive in comfort.

To fight a man when he lies to me, without a 'justice' system then taking all my money, and calling it punishment, or correction.

To be able to pee anywhere I want, instead of being told I have to pee in only certain areas, like a cat in a litter box.

Looks like I got off topic, those things aren't products.
