I am about 3 weeks into a Paleo-ish diet that I've been placed on ( very willingly) by my naturopath. I have researched and dabbled with Paleo in the past, but this is the first time I've actually made the plunge. I have been having some undiagnosed health issues and we're hoping this diet helps.
Currently I'm doing no grain, no starchy veggies (so no potatoes, sweet potato, beet, carrot, etc), no fruit and no sugar/sweetener. I can do raw and high fat dairy (though I'm considering taking this one out). ( as an side note: I'm supposed to keep my carbs at less than 45g, protein at less than 50g and get the balance of my calories from fat....)
My dilemma is that I'd really like something dessert like. Does anyone have ideas about something that might hit the spot, but not have sweetener? I know that cream has a natural sweetness to it, as does coconut milk... I'm wondering how an ice cream or pudding sans sweetener would taste. Has anyone tried? Any ideas are welcome.
