This isn't necessarily a problem that started since I switched to Paleo, but eating Paleo seems to have limited my solutions. In short, I have trouble with regular bowel movements. On a good week they're every 1-2 days, but sometimes I'll go 3-4 days between bowel movements, which can't be good.
Before I switched to Paleo, I used to drink Activia yogurt every morning with breakfast, and that almost always did the trick. I was drinking the fruity, sugary stuff, so I cut that out when I changed my diet. Since then, I haven't been pooping regularly, and the few times I tried the regular, unflavored Activia yogurt it rarely had the same effect.
I'm eating two large meals a day supplemented by snacking on trail mix and veggies, and I don't feel hungry and my weight has been steady, so I doubt I'm undereating.
Are there any similar Paleo-friendly, er, "helpers" out there?
Edit
Thanks for all of your help, and I should have been more clear. The problem isn't a need to poop on a pre-determined schedule, but rather that if I don't have regular bowel movements I do feel "blocked" and can tell I need to go but just can't. I have been Paleo for about 3 months now, but eat some dairy and have cream in my coffee every morning, which doesn't seem to help.
