They are a new butcher shop on Fairfax near Melrose. Great local, pastured meats that they cut on premises.

Dinner tonight was bacon, 10 oz pork sirloin, 2 fried eggs in ghee and bacon fat, and spinach/broccoli sauteed in the bacon fat.

yum.

p.s. I have no affiliation with them, just happy to find good meat! – Jeff Jun 24 2011 at 1:13

They are awesome I also like bestbeefever.com they have farmer markets in studio city, pasadena, check their site for details. My mom, a chef, claims its the best meat ever, but she hasn't tried lindy, but the link has less expensive meat. Oh.. and on thing I like about the farm I liked is when they make ground meat all the meat comes from one cow, instead of multiple cows. Their meat is awesome, I ate it raw and its delicious, very fresh. – Robert Sep 20 at 23:08
rad. If I'm back in the LA area, I'll hit them up. I wish Riverside County would get on the bandwagon already! – hackadoodle82 Jan 12 at 18:21

My chef friend recommended them, too! Still need to get over there... lol. What are the prices like?

It was recommended to me as well! I just looked at their web-site and didn't see if the meat they sell is 100% grass-fed...does anyone know if it is?

I believe it is all pasture raised. – Jeff Dec 1 at 17:26
Thnx, will stop next trip to LA:) – Kira Dec 4 at 7:55
Yes, absolutely everything in there is grass-fed/finished or in the case of pork, chicken and the like, pasture-raised. – Gary Mar 23 at 22:05

Lindy and Grundy's is unbelievable. Been going there for some time now. Only down side is it's tremendously expensive (even relative to other grass-fed purveyors). But it really is the best meat I've tasted.

This place is great, and I am lucky to live VERY VERY close by... But I do find that their prices are quite high... Not just on their meat, on EVERYTHING in the store. Even their spaghetti squash is $5 a pound, which is completely unheard of in my mind.

You can certainly find grass-fed/finished meat on line for far less.
