Since these nuggets, and perhaps sausages as well, are made from the least noble animal parts, they probably come from a bolus of carcass, marrow and offal. Doesn't this make them a healthy snack?

More importantly, can't we actually make these homemade nuggets and sneak in some awful offal such as kidneys and liver?

If that's all they were made out of, sure, they'd be healthy. But from my understanding they are made by mechanically separating, bleaching, extruding, breading and then deep frying those ingredients in industrial oil.

I haven't eaten a nugget in over 10 years, and that description still made me nauseous. – Nita Jun 24 2011 at 19:06

Just look at the ingredients and decide for yourself ;)

Have a gander at the picture of the mechanically separated chicken that chicken nuggests are made of and decide if it looks healthy to you. http://www.fooducate.com/blog/2009/08/03/guess-whats-in-the-picture-foodlike-substance/

(Not that I’d recommend Chicken McNuggets anyway simply on the basis of vegetable oils…)
