I don't get the problem. What was nasty about it? – Ambimorph Jun 25 2011 at 13:12

Sure, just to say I did. Unless you're doing Whole30 or have some kind of short term goal and want to stay clean for a particular reason, Paleo shouldn't be so strict that you can't have fun once in a while.

I totally agree. I don't even want to feel like I can't indulge sometimes even if it's just because I want to. – Shari Bambino Jun 25 2011 at 14:18

If it's deep-fried, I'd be willing to bet that it wasn't fried in a healthy animal fat.

I'd also be willing to bet that whatever it was coated in definitely wasn't coconut or almond flour, lol. – invisible ink Jun 25 2011 at 11:45

Stop. You had me at "bacon". Yes I would.

I've eaten fried bacon before (welcome to TX...); while it's not paleo enough for me, it's delicious enough. Fried bacon FTW.

At least it's not Funnel cake or deep fried Twinkies and Snickers, but if we are talking slippery slope of fun fair food, how about deep fried mushrooms? Mmmm....they're mushrooms right....and the fair only comes once a year...unless you're trying to be a Paleo Carnie.

Bad oil and that coating will likely be wheat flour. Not even good enough to cheat with:( – wood Jun 25 2011 at 21:39

I guess if it didnt look appetizing I wouldnt bother. As said before depending on how it was cooked, would make the difference of how good it was for you.
