I love a little heavy cream in my coffee, but recently it seems I just can't find the good stuff anywhere. I used to get it at a farmers' market, or the Ronnybrook cream at the local organics store. Now my farmer's no longer there, and the store stopped carrying Ronnybrook. And all other creams I've seen have additives, even the organic ones. The only one that comes close is the Organic Valley half-and-half, but I'm trying to avoid milk, so... No good.

Does anyone know a good, reliable source for clean heavy cream that I can buy online? I've come across a couple of places (uddermilk.com, cowsoutside.com), but not sure if they're good or not. Also, how safe is raw cream?

P.S. Thanks for all the responses, people! I should've mentioned that we don't own a car, so driving to a local farm to pick stuff up isn't really possible. This is why I'm looking for stores or online sources only.

I've been using raw cream in my coffee and tea (and scrambled eggs) since I found a little farm near me last month. A little googling and I found quite a list of places that carry it near Brooklyn.

I second realmilk.com- nothing better than local grass-fed fresh raw cream. You could also contct your local Weston Price chapter to find raw dairy (or grass-fed beef, etc) locally. – Lizzish Jun 30 2011 at 0:33

I don't know about buying online... I'm surprised your store doesn't have the Organic Valley heavy whipping cream; that's what I buy and I love it! Tell the store manager to stock it!

	We do have it... But doesn't it have carrageenan? I heard that stuff's Bad with a capital B. Unless you're talking about a different kind of cream. The one I saw is a small red container. – BeastGirl Jun 29 2011 at 20:12
	Only OV's "Ultra Pasteurized" Heavy Cream has carrageenan in it I believe. You need to get the "Pasteurized" which is only cream. – HeatherC Jun 29 2011 at 20:43

	oh nevermind, it's a "harmless" thickener made from seaweed, but I guess it affects celiacs negatively (cross contamination?). I haven't had any issues but I don't have any gluten issues in general. – thatonecrazylady Jun 30 2011 at 15:15

How safe is raw cream? is relative to the source. I consume raw milk, cream and butter with no ill effect but I know my farmer and how the animals and product is handled. There's a whole lot of hubub and there are other threads here that cover it. Where are you located?

Go Brooklyn! I can guarantee that if you are in Le NY that Union Square Greenmarket will give you your organic tasty happy cow cream Monday Wednesday Friday Saturday 8-6pm. PS: I too live in the BK and have my sources for raw products. I don't personally know the farmers or the animals but it's one of those things that is guarded enough, at least around here, so the quality is pretty tight. Thanks jesus! Go BK! I do love the Union Sq market, but with two kids, a home business, and no car, getting there means an hour commute there and back... Not easy to do every week. When my store has the regular pasteurized Organic Valley cream, I get that. If they only have the ultra pasteurized stuff then I spend the extra money and get the Kalona, which tastes way better anyway. The only problem with Kalona is that they don't have small bottles of it and it goes bad before I can use it all. I would love to get raw cream, but my state makes it really hard to get any raw dairy.

Where can I get good quality heavy cream?
