I am concerned with mercury and PCBs from salmon unprocessed(not fish oil extracted from salmon) in taking omega 3. Other option is fish oil extracted from krill due to low body mass with less mercury contamination. Question: how safe is method of extraction of oil from krill? Chemical processes of extraction may use several catalysts and solvents which may be approved by FDA and still pose risks to health perhaps after much research in the future. what is probability of risks of mercury in eating unprocessed salmon directly compared to risks from extracted omega 3 from krill?
