Just yesterday I broke a bone in my hand. I will be seeing a specialist in a couple days to see if I need surgery and also get my cast. Is there Anything nutrition- wise that I can eat to help speed up the healing process?

Woah, feel better! @stabby's link is great - here are a few other things to add to the mix: Anything high in vitamin c levels will act as an anti-inflammatory and boost your immune system. Milk - goat or cow for protein to boost the immune system, plus calcium and vitamin d. Veg, such as broccoli, with high vitamin k levels as they will encourage the re-building of your bones. Yogurt for amino acids, calcium, lysine and glutamine, will help with the absorption of calcium, which again is part of the re-building process. Cheers |

Take LOTS of Vitamin D supplements - way more than usual. Do this for few weeks - three or four. Vitamin D is necessary for bone health and HEALING. |
