Just yesterday I broke a bone in my hand. I will be seeing a specialist in a couple days to see if I need surgery and also get my cast. Is there Anything nutrition- wise that I can eat to help speed up the healing process?

"Hack my broken hand" but if I do that it will hurt more! Tehee. Anyway here's an article about micronutrients for recovery. Paleo seems to be pretty ballin' for healing bones. perfecthealthdiet.com/?p=705 – Stabby Jul 9 2011 at 4:33

Woah, feel better! @stabby's link is great - here are a few other things to add to the mix: Anything high in vitamin c levels will act as an anti-inflammatory and boost your immune system. Milk - goat or cow for protein to boost the immune system, plus calcium and vitamin d. Veg, such as broccoli, with high vitamin k levels as they will encourage the re-building of your bones. Yogurt for amino acids, calcium, lysine and glutamine, will help with the absorption of calcium, which again is part of the re-building process. Cheers

Have you considered healing your hand all sexy like? Go bionic or go home, Nancy.

Take LOTS of Vitamin D supplements - way more than usual. Do this for few weeks - three or four.

Vitamin D is necessary for bone health and HEALING.
