I read it recently but can't remember where.

bread: those little slices of death - how I loathe them.

My take on E.A Poe's famous quote - "substituting "sleep" with "bread"

When digested, all carbs are sugars. So, think of eating carbs as eating sugar. Moreover, think of eating refined (processed) carbohydrates as eating concentrated sugar. Dennis E. Bradford - I like this one, though it seems we have a real problem with sugar addiction, the travesity is most people don't know they are addicted.

"Man cannot live on wild caught canned sardines and crushing angst alone." Mark's Daily Apple

It does me good to remember that sometimes and laugh at myself when I get too wrapped up :)

"You tell me where I can find a tree that grows loaves of bread for fruit, and I'll agree that you aren't eating a processed diet." - I know self quoting is for a-holes but I plucked this feather out of my hat when arguing with a really good vegan friend of mine who (until I made this comment) believed he was eating a diet "free of processed foods and meat".

while riding my bike i saw a bumper sticker on this person's car, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere since, but I LOVED it. It read 'meat is murder' with the 'M' crossed out and a red 'WH' over it to read "WHeat is murder"

I want that bumper sticker! if anyone knows where i can find it, lemme know.

I can't say it's my favorite but hearing Nikoley call Muslims a "dogsh*t culture" has changed how I view a lot of the heroes out there.

There are a few phrases from Arthur DeVany that I really like which you can read here. But my favourite phrase is as follows:

  • "When the difference between the most you can do and the least you can do merges, you're dead."

Came across this one on whole9life.com:

Kids today are the first generation to grow up on this stuff, and we’re making a science experiment out of them. Isn’t it strange how upset people get about a few dozen baseball players taking growth hormones, when we’re doing what we’re doing to our food animals and feeding them to our children?”

Frank Reese, poultry farmer

Everything in excess is opposed to nature.

If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.

It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has.

Science is the father of knowledge, but opinion breeds ignorance.

There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the later ignorance.

Walking is man's best medicine.

Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.

All quotes of Hippocrates.

I think I read this somewhere, maybe inspired by the book Good Calories Bad Calories, but I can't remember specifically.

When I walk into my kitchen today, I am not alone. Whether we know it or not, none of us is. We bring fathers and mothers and kitchen tables, and every meal we have ever eaten. Food is never just food. It's also a way of getting at something else: who we are, who we have been, and who we want to be. Molly Wizenberg, A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table, 2009 ....

Food is not just food, it is a way to decide what we will be.
