I must have eaten something that really, really didn't agree with me combined with too many fermented vegetables, but long story short I have been up all evening/night/morning perched in a squat position. I have never experience bowl movements this bad--so much painful cramping and it smells like something crawled inside my bathroom and died. I managed to fall asleep after a while (in the bedroom, not on the toilet) and when I woke up my eyes were swollen, my skin looks very very dry and sunken, and yep -- I still need to visit the loo.
My question is what is the best/most effective way to deal with dehydration (from a days worth of being on the toilet)? I'm starting with a cup of homemade bone broth with extra salt and some regular water -- I'm feeling quite weak with no appetite.
Also, could consuming a large amount of raw, well washed spinach (about 300g) cause this? Yesterday was also the first time I tried my spouses upgraded collagen (2 tbs) mixed in some broth with my lunch.

You'll want something to replete electrolytes and hydration - so coconut water would be good, seasalt with water would be good. Drink these slowly, so as not to trigger another bout.
Following up with some probiotics and prebiotics might not be a bad idea depending on the cause of the diarrhea - especially if the problem was bacterial/viral in origin. If it was due to taking in too much magnesium (i.e. magnesium oxide), or from consuming too much fat too quickly, you can skip this step.
