I am almost 2 weeks into doing Paleo which I chose for weight loss. I think I mistakenly thought that just by virtue of eliminating all the bread/pasta/carbs, diet soda and dairy that I would just lose weight, but I don't think that's the case. I've definitely lost a few pounds, but am wondering how I can tell if I'm on the right track. I'm not a great cook so have been trying to discover new ways to learn, I'm probably eating too much fruit(?) and haven't been able to work out much in the last 2 weeks. Hoping if I can change that, it'll help boost what I'm doing? I'd hate to think that I gave up all the foods I "love" to stay the same...!? Welcome advice...:) (oh and I've had maybe 3 glasses of wine in 2 weeks)...
I eat no fruit at the moment. I am female. if I eat fruit I put on weight, sadly. Once you are the weight you like go back to fruit. I drink no alcohol and I only drink water. Don't bother with much exercise just sort out the food.
So alcohol ever.
Just drink only water
Get as much sleep as you can.
Pat yourself for being on the right track! Honestly, this is one of the things that takes time. It took me a good year to figure out what foods worked for me and which didn't and what the right amounts were. We're all different. For instance, I had to (sadly) cut out pecans and walntus. I was also able to reintroduce milk, which was great.
The best advice I can give you is keep track of your energy levels, especially if you're cutting back on carbs significantly. You have to figure out what the right amount of fruit is (and possibly eat low-sugar fruits) ALSO, don't forget to have fermented foods or probiotics in your diet.
