Hi there I have recently been thinking of cycling to work once or twice a work as a means of getting in some more exercise and cut down on gas.
My office is 15km away so probably an hour long cycle I am just wondering if anyone has any opinions on doing this on a Paleo diet. I eat VLC and will wear a HRM so I can keep my HR in a fat burning zone...
What are the pros and cons of adding this to my plate? I do an hour long weight training 2x a week, recreational soccer once a week and once a week or so I do muay thai, tho mostly beginners.
I am still trying to lean out. I have lost 15lbs near on and weigh around 190lbs now, I am 5'9. Ideally I would like to get down to 170 and then bulk up but that's miles away. I eat a very low carb diet, only source of carbs would be veggies and the cream in my 18% coffee id assume under 50g a day and I regularly test to see if I am in ketosis (and am) so my diet is not knocking me out. I do try to calorie restrict as often as possible as It has helped me drop weight as I was stuck at 195 for over 2 months and this was the only way to break the plateau.
So any advice or opinions on cycling to work? I obviously wouldnt do it daily I am thinking once-twice a week for the next few months while its warm.
