I seem to be having too much .. I seem to look older than my years.
I am having 140g a day and weight 150lbs .. I work out 2 times per week with heavy weights .. other days I do a lot of walking at work .. but definitely feel like I could cut down on protein ..
I eat Mince and Mackerel + fruit in the morning, Mince and Rice in the evening and Mince and lots of organic veg in the evening.
I need about 2500 cals a day as I feel tired at work otherwise.
I was thinking of cutting out the mackerel and replacing it with cod liver oil for a start.
I was eating about the same amount protein as you were & noticed the same things, I cut it down to 35g-70g per day and feel/look better for it. I have meat once a day in the evening rather than 3 times a day, if im hungry during the day I snack on avocados, nuts, butter, ghee, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, leftovers, or i fast until my meal in the evening which is easy as i eat VLC most days, usually the less I eat during the day the more energy I have, meat makes me lethargic so best to save it for the evening anyway.
In my opinion, replacing food with oil is not typically a good option. 2 tbsp of oil will give you the same caloric load as a filet of mackel but in addition to the reduce protien you are also loosing a lot of nutrients.
Why not swap out one of your servings of mince with vegetables?
You might do better replacing some of the mince with say, liver pate and some egg yolks. I don't think too much protein is an issue for you - if you're eating less than 1g of protein per 1 lbs of lean body mass per day, you have just enough to do repairs. Now if you're 150lbs and you're overweight by say 30lbs, then perhaps less protein would be helpful.
