Can people recommend a type and brand of oil that they like for their mayo?
I have tried avocado oil and it gives the oil a green tint, which might be ideal for upcoming St. Patrick's day, but it's not appetizing for tuna fish.
My goto now is Macadamia nut oil but the mac nut flavor is very strong.
I have seen recommendations of using light (non-EVO) olive oil, but I have not tried that yet.
Would like to know what other people like.
EVOO works fine if you don't mind a slightly bitter twinge, which I don't mind. By coincidence I made some today using some of Costco's in house certified organic EVOO. You could add other flavors to mask the bitterness, like a teaspoon of sesame seed oil, or some hot sauce.
In the past I've used lite olive oil, but I don't trust that it isn't cut with canola, corn, soy, or other evil heart damaging "vegetable" oils.
I've heard of folks using coconut oil for this, though obviously you'll need to heat it when you blend it.
