I usually prescribe to the Mark Sisson 85% rule. I stay 100% gluten free but I will have some corn now and then as part of my 15% non paleo/primal eating. Living in southern california it's easy to just give in to a few tacos here and there for a quick and cheap lunch. But sometimes I wonder if corn is actually worse then gluten
Corn is much much more benign than wheat. I don't consider myself wheat/gluten-intolerant and do consume it occasionally, but even then, my digestion changes significantly with the addition of wheat, but not corn.
That's actually a broad stroke, several widely consumed whole grains contain gluten and GMO Corn may or may not cause serious diseases in rats in France. Saying that one is necessarily worse than the other for everyone can't really be proven at this point. That being said, I like both but preferably in their whole grain form, which may or may not make a difference, but that's what I do.
