but how I can apply this for a 9 year old boy who is 2 inches below 5th percentile for his age?
1.He sleeps now on average only 9.5 - 10 hours (10-11 hrs recommended). Could this be affecting his growth? Should I try to add another hour to his sleep length?
2. I know insulin will suppress growth hormone production. But kids need carbs. What suppose to be my strategy for dinner? Should I feed him lowcarb dinner 2 hours before his bed time? Or normal dinner with plenty of carbs 3 hrs before bed would be ok? What to do when he will ask for a snack before going to bed? Nuts and jerky kind snacks? Usually he is done eating dinner 1.5 - 2 hours before falling asleep.
3. Intermittent fasting.... How important is this for kids? How to implement it? Skipping breakfast on weekends?
4. I can't imagine him doing heavy weight lifting. Is this really important? Would it be enough to do high intensity interval training in addition to just kids activities?
