I recently saw an article, probably not on here, regarding endurance athletes and how the consumption of carbs, and protein (actually the lack there of), can interfere with muscle growth and can actually eat away at muscle while still adding body fat. This is the reason that many marathoners or long distance type people have a good layer of fat and low muscle tone even though they train day in day out long distance. It ended by saying that it is the reason that many marathoners can run a lot but yet enven though you would expect their body to be lean and strong, they have a "spare tire" still. (my brother is the prime example.)
Can anyone help me find this great article/post?
