I just made a thread asking about paleo and from looking at old threads the advice is all sati ng do not eat more tun 150 grams a week. For the last week I have been eating 500-700 grams of chicken and beef liver PER DAY.
Do I need to stop this?
For grain fed super low value chicken from my supermarket it is 11 pound per 1000g, for livers it is £3.16 for 1000g,
I tried the butchers and it is dearer for chicken and steak there than at the supermarket!
Realistically I have around £2.50 a day to spend on food because things are super tight at home. I am a powerlifter and have high protein demands too. So for £2.50 a day and 140 grams of protein a day at least minimum, this makes buying non organ meat impossible on my budget.
Please tell me 500g of liver a day is fine, or if not please tell me its not, because I want to do paleo but I get the feeling from browsing the forums I am poisoning myself.
Generally supplemental vitamin A is in the form of beta carotene, which cannot induce vitamin A toxicity, it just turns you orange. Liver, on the other hand, will induce vitamin A toxicity in time. Any one food eaten in excess is not good for you. Even "healthy" foods like liver. Eat a varied diet.
Copper may be an issue if you're eating beef liver.
i am in the uk and find oxtail, lamb hearts and sprats to be very cheap protein sources other than liver. lamb shoulder, brisket, beef neck, chicken feet and stewing meat are all cheap too. I don't really eat pork so can't comment on that.
Depends, do you want vitamin A poisoning?

Personally, I don't eat liver more than 2 or 3 times a week and only 3 ounces or so at a time. As you used the £ sign, I assume you are in the UK. Whereabouts? Most towns and some large villages have a weekly market; meat and veg there are a far better price than supermarkets and a lot of butchers.
I prefer to go to a butcher for meat, it is good quality, you can buy cheap cuts such as ox cheek, kidneys, shin, neck of lamb etc. And when you get to know the butcher, he will often GIVE you bones for making stock, fat to render down for lard for cooking in etc. And don't forget mince - the extra lean is dearer but the fat version is what I want in any case.
Do you eat fish? Again, there are always cheap fish, such as mackerel, herring, herring roe etc.
There are definitely other options of offal and bones that are comparably as budget friendly as liver. In Ohio, marrow bones are super cheap and tasty, as are oxtails, tongue, and heart. Do you own a slow cooker? Shanks, whole or cross cut, are awesome both for your budget, taste buds, and body.
