I recently added retrograded potatoes and white rice (both high in resistant starch) to my diet, I would like to know at what time is it better to eat carbs if you are trying to lose weight. Love
I'd go by calories and context if you're trying to lose weight, rather than eating by the angle of the sun / hours you've been awake.
If you're at 1/2-2/3 of your caloric goals for the day and you tolerate simple carbs well with room for the glycogen storage, perhaps after a workout, potatoes seem like a nice treat and a good source of potassium as part of a balanced meal at night. Even better might be low glycemic complex carbs / fibers if you're not wanting the insulin spike and need something to throw fat on or add volume to your protein.
If you're at 100%+ of your caloric goals and you've already eaten your meals for the day, you probably don't need to be eating straight white rice in the middle of the night, especially if you have poor blood sugar, where you could probably use more nutritious foods in your diet if you're eating at an otherwise caloric deficit.
